… or, at least I think I am …
I wish I knew what was wrong with my computer. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t work. Sometimes, when you turn off the computer and turn it back on it is at the worst.
If anybody has any familiarity with this - drop me a line .. hart (at) 1800HART (dot) com

Well, I was low on business cards anyway… and today I got sick of crossing out my OLD cell phone number and writing my new Cell phone number on the back - So I printed up new business cards.
I print all of my own business cards, using a template I designed on MS Publisher, and printing them on “Avery #38873 Clean Edge Linen Textured Business Cards”, off of my HP Deskjet 990cxi professional series Ink Jet printer.

Attention: CANCER PEOPLE (born between June 21 and July 22) ……
My birthday is in July and ever since my last birthday I have been receiving daily horoscopes from some person named Jonathan Cainer. It is emailed directly to a BLOGGER.com blog I had started in July 2005. I have tried to get in touch with them to change the email direction to perhaps this blog or a new wordpress blog (or just to myself!) but because it is all automated and I am unable to respond back from the email that I signed up on (the secret blogspot email) .. I can’t edit it or change it.
And, it’s quite ugly it seems. The code has some weird coding that I am guessing is meant strictly for email distribution.

Another Telephone Service Rant and Rave ….
As I wrote previously .. when my Telus cell phone service came due, I opted to consolidate my second cell phone account with my main telephone company - Manitoba Telephone System (M.T.S.) so .. Goodbye Telus Mobility and Hello MTS Mobility. The second cell phone account now costs me $10.00 on the ‘buddy’ system plus taxes. Before, with taxes, each of my two cell phones services (for myself and my wife) cost about $45.00 each. My Telus phone actually cost $50.00 with the Call display and extended voice mail options, but it was offset with a discount my wife received on her cell phone account because of ‘bundling’ deal I did with Home phone, cell phone and internet DSL accounts. (it was $40.00 plus taxes)
>> So: I am saving $35.00 plus taxes per month on Cell Phone Costs …

Something interesting happened this weekend, and I thought I would document it.
As you know, I have the blog site 1-800-HART’s Picks where I have joined companies as an affiliate, then I surf their sites for products that even HART would buy (if I had the money) .. then I post them in the blog. In Wordpress, there is a plugin called wp-amazon and even another one out there, that makes this quite easy to do.
You see - in my options area, I insert my Amazon affiliate-ID and then there is a button here in my area where I can search for any amazon product and post the link. For example, looking for an XBOX 360 game..

HART’s mind works in mysterious ways ….
I have kept a record of every Prime Rate change since January 1, 1986. I guess I’m anal that way. There are many times working on year end financial statements that I have to accrue interest on loan balances. Quite contrary to common belief .. “term loan rates” are not that common for business. Mind you, I shouldn’t say that as if I am making a fact, but rather an observation. Usually with my experience, when there are company loans that involve general security arrangements, I have noted that these loans tend to be VARIABLE in nature - in this case .. “Prime plus”. These loans would include demand operating loans, general working capital loans, etc etc. The term loans that usually have specific terms of repayment and interest rates are those usually secured by a specific asset or group of assets that has a serial number - such as automobile financing, equipment loans, etc etc. These are not always the case, just “in General” and in my humble opinion.
Anyway, sometimes you need to accrue interest or estimate what portion of a blended interest and principal loan payment is. Knowing the rate of interest is usually helpful. For instance, if there is a demand loan that is being charged “Prime plus 2.5%” and the last payment was taken out on the 5th of the month, I might accrue interest from the 6th of the month to the end of the month in the financial statements - but I need to know what Prime rate is. That’s where my recap comes into good use.
