1 - 8 - 0 - 0 - H - A - R - T

Well .. it might not seem like progress to some, still having 55 items in my ToDo list .. however this past week I have made some great progress (as you recall it was 67 last week and rising).

There are currently two jobs that are eating up my time though, and about 5 more that I have to find a good block of time to dedicate to the start, doing and completion of the tasks .. but other than that .. I should be ticking jobs off my list in quantities.

For a few of the non-May 1st deadlines and Year Ends, I have enlisted the aid of a part-time helper with the inputting of raw data into the computer (cheque stubs and stuff like that) .. to help speed up the future completion of any of the jobs that might be put off until May 2, 2006 - to help me turn it over sooner.

I posted my TO-DO List as at Monday April 10, 2006 .. HERE .. which shows that I had 67 items on my To-Do list.

Well .. since then - I have been working on two major year ends and two Final Returns, manage to get 7 envelopes of individuals or family tax returns ready for pickup on Monday (or Tuesday - depending on Holiday Status) - but my To-Do list now stands at 69 tasks to do! Eight more families came in this week, plus another corporation year end due.

I have to make a difference this upcoming week - the 2nd last week before the April 30th Income Tax Deadline (here in Canada) … so I have decided to change my tactics with accomplishing my To-Do list task.

Stress .. Life as an accountant!

It’s my busy tax time season, and yes - I am quite busy. I am not only doing Income Tax Returns, but many different jobs. Some take about 20 minutes (plus printing etc) to many days of preparation and finalization. It’s nice to get a break and do MANY MANY different jobs, yet not so different - because I’ve been doing them for years!

So .. what do I do between jobs? Well, this year - I’ve been browsing my RSS feeds … If I see anything amusing (for anybody else working hard and stressed out these days) … I’ll post some of the amusing sites and feeds in this blog.
