If you didn’t know, I’ve had this page in my sidebar called 1-800-ASK-HART where if anybody had an accounting and bookeeping or personal or corporate income tax question .. all they had to do was post a comment and ASK HART (me) and HART (me) will find the answers for you.

There hasn’t been too much activity on that page.

This is the second day in a row that I have woken up and the famous Kubrick WordPress Default 1.6 Theme, by Michael Heilemann, was the default.

Did somebody hack into my account and trying to tell me something? I guess it’s time to change my password from “password” to something a little harder, like .. “password1″ or something!

That you may be able to reduce your income tax by donating to a registered charity? You can verify whether a charity is registered by searching for it in the CRA Charities Listings.

In 2006, the first $200 you donate is eligible for a federal tax credit of 15.25% of the donation amount. After the first $200 of charitable donations, the federal tax credit increases to 29% of the amount donated over $200. You may also be eligible for provincial or territorial tax credits based on the applicable provincial or territorial rates.

Need help preparing the T4’s for your business?

Ottawa, Ontario, February 14, 2007… The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will provide service on its business enquiries telephone lines on two Saturdays, February 17, and 24, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (local time). This extended service will assist employers who need help preparing T4 slips for employees.

The business enquiry telephone service operates year round with agent-assisted service available from Monday to Friday between 8:15 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Automated service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It’s only -18c right now - that’s about 14 degrees warmer than usual! We’ve been in the middle of an arctic cold front and it’s been minimum of -32c every night, with some days of -48c with the windchill .. and quite frankly - I’m sick and tired of it.

Look what somebody did to our house and took our extension cords and opened my car door and gave me a dead battery and stole a few homemade CD’s … Guess that flexible siding isn’t so flexible at -32c temperatures!

The Microsoft Windows Error Reporting crash recovery screen suggests that my main desktop computer (DELL) needs a new video driver ?? .. Ever since last night about 7pm (Sunday evening) my computer has been rebooting immediately after it reboots and reaches the desktop.

I’m on my second spare computer right now (aka the COMPAQ aka my wife’s SIMS2 computer) but, all my data is one the DELL computer .. and my last backup to this computer over the network - was Friday Morning … I’ve lost about 8 hours of work if I can’t recover it today. Naturally, that will be my priority because I do not want to reinvent the wheel. More →
