The following Notice to the Media has just been posted on the Finance Canada Site.

The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, and the Honourable Loyola Hearn, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, will meet fishers in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, to highlight the recent passage into law of a capital gains exemption for Canadian Fishers.
The event will take place at 2:00 p.m., at the Harbour Authority of Fort Amherst Small Boat Basin (Prosser’s Rock) in St. John’s. In case of poor weather, the event will be held at The Rooms, Level 3, 9 Bonaventure Avenue, St. John’s.
A media availability and photo opportunity will follow the event.
