I took my laptop to the cottage this weekend, and did a little work. WHAT A PLEASURE! I actually did some work! The laptop battery, fully charged, lasts for an estimated 5-1/2 hours .. but, I had it plugged in while I was using it and keeping it charged.

In my house, the built-in wi-fi/bluetooth/wireless detector recognized my own network and hooked up to my wireless G broadband router immediately. Actually, it also noticed a few other networks in my general area too! That’s with no extra wireless card inserted into the laptop .. just turn it on - and I’m not only connected to my other computers, but the network. It’s pretty sweeeeeeeeet.

I live about 35km east of Elie where this happened Friday night .. This could have caused a lot more damage and destruction and injuries had it hit Winnipeg ..

1800HART.com used to tie in with HBSMC.com .. before the recent move to the new server .. (ISP#1) but now each is two separate and unique domains.

About time! I was getting Email Deprivation However .. after I got email to work .. and started to download 1387 unread emails from Sunday Morning .. that feeling passed quickly.

Greetings and Salutations ..

The nameservers have kicked in and this blog appears to be ready for new posts. I am in the final stages of testing the database, the permissions, etc etc etc.

We’re almost there .. and back to normal! Well, except for a few upgrades and conversion to wordpress version 2.2 .. everything is where it should be .. for this blog!

Please take a look around, and see if you notice anything different. I would appreciate your comments … I’m probably still working on getting the other sites going in the background…

I am currently in the process of moving most of my accounts to a new ISP. Today I have changed most of the nameservers to the redirect to the new server. This may take up to 12-24 hours to process. Unfortunately, most of my sites may become unaccessable during this time.

I have not changed the nameservers on this site (or the PetLvr sites) .. and there should be no problems accessing this blog. However, I have changed the nameserver on HART-Empire.com/ where I am documenting the move (which may become unaccessable) so I thought I would post a “NEWS UPDATE” over here on this blog.

Bad News: EVDO Revolutionery Obstacles

Naturally, the second thing I did after receiving my new laptop today (the first being me taking it out of the box) was to install the software and check out the EVDO Wireless broadband internet connectivity.

Well .. the light was on the card, showing power, but the software was saying there was no power. Rather than fiddle with it, I decided to just pack it up and take it down to the MTS Connect Center where they promised they would help get it set up if I needed it .. I figured .. why not?! It would probably be faster than me reading instructions, trying to figure out Windows Vista Business, etc etc.

If you recall .. as of January 23, 2007, a new American law required everyone entering the United States by air to have a passport.

Apparently .. that creates too many lineups at the borders.
