A while ago, I popped an extra $1,000 CDN$ into my paypal account. Although I have posted a few times in this blog about the rising foreign exchange rates here and here, I didn’t think much of the running balance in my paypal account.

All I do recall, is that I had about $XXXX dollars in $CDN plus $YYYY in $USD … then October 2008 $ZZZZ revenues in $USD was added to my paypal account .. and for some reason - silly me - I thought $XXXX + $YYYY + $ZZZZ = My Balance! But, I was wrong - as I found out today - I needed to pay some bloggers for the HART-Empire Network today and had to dip into the $CDN balance fund.

I didn’t have to take out a bank loan today to fill my car’s gas tank!

I shop at Safeway .. and that price includes my 7cents off as a Safeway Club Member .. but, it only took about $45 to fill my gas guzzler car! I think we’ve all noticed that gas prices are going down everywhere, but I thought I would pull out the chart for Winnipeg to see how the prices have been going on around here, since both the Canadian election (October 14, 2008) and the America election (November 4, 2008)

I first placed the Entrecard script on this blog back in January 2008, and as I mentioned back in August 2008 .. I have been trying to keep EC-costs down to allow other EC users to advertise on this site relatively inexpensively.

Tomorrow, November 1, 2008, I will stop accepting purchases for daily slots and deny purchases. However, all purchases made today will be honoured and accepted in the queue (I believe that is good for 10 days) where at the end of the period, I will be removing the code. It was December 2, 2007 since I’ve emptied the “trash” folder in my Eudora program. I remember vividly, because I blogged about it to remind me!

Since then - 148 days later .. it would seem that I have averaged 129,199/148 =~ 873 spam trashy emails per day. That’s interesting to me, because everytime I check to see how many emails I received in any given day it is well over 1,100 count. That would seem to me that my filter is routing a lot of other garbage all over the place, or I ignore or there really is about 200 emails per day of sitemeter statistics, wordpress messages, spam karma 2 messages, moderation notices and comment tracking. I think I really deal with 50-100 emails a day that I see that requires my attention or a reply back.

Yup. Back to it~

I work in my home, on the second floor. During the summer, it gets too hot - because heat rises. In the winter, it’s quite the opposite - I’m freezing! We keep our natural gas fireplace on most of the time, and the thermostat is on the main floor. In order to bring heat up to the second floor, the main floor has to either turn into a furnace .. (which, I don’t mind) .. or we have to spend money redoing our heating system and maybe even consider dual furnaces and the like!

So .. I have been using a “Space Heater” for the past 4 years. Last week - it died on me! I finally moved up from the cheaper $19.99 space heater to the $59.99 model at Canadian Tire, although with the accumulated Canadian Tire Dollar money I have .. it only cost me $35.00. This is FAR WAY SUPERIOR than the other one, and oscillates nicely to keep my legs warm, and my office in my home comfortable to work in. If you are looking for a heater for under your desk - and I know how confusing that can be with all the choices - I would recommend you try the one I’ve got pictured below!

The upgrade to Wordpress version 2.3.3 is now complete. I have also upgraded this template as well .. to the new HART-Empire Network template.

I will miss the old 1-800-HART template, which (if anybody noticed) was Version 2, and I really liked the old header graphic. So - I shrunk it and placed in the top left “About” box as a momento

In case you were interested about the color scheme .. I have left PURPLE color theme for HART-Empire-Network.com and the BattlingForHealth.com series of blogs because purple is my favorite color. I have decided to use BROWN color on the AndYouWill.com series of blogs, but I have yet to update those subdomains as of yet. I wanted GREEN color thing for everything “HART” or “SINGER” related blogs - the colour of money - but, quite honestly my wife says the BLUE color looked better, and well .. since I asked which one she liked better and then she DID pick the BLUE one - … yup BLUE it is!
