I’ve been estimating that I receive approximately 1400 emails per day … but, really I haven’t checked in a long while, so I thought I would do that today.

It was December 2, 2007 since I’ve emptied the “trash” folder in my Eudora program. I remember vividly, because I blogged about it to remind me!

Since then - 148 days later .. it would seem that I have averaged 129,199/148 =~ 873 spam trashy emails per day. That’s interesting to me, because everytime I check to see how many emails I received in any given day it is well over 1,100 count. That would seem to me that my filter is routing a lot of other garbage all over the place, or I ignore or there really is about 200 emails per day of sitemeter statistics, wordpress messages, spam karma 2 messages, moderation notices and comment tracking. I think I really deal with 50-100 emails a day that I see that requires my attention or a reply back.

Heck It’s Friday. A little Background History …

I’ve been a MSN Messenger snob for years, since switching from ICQ. I used to really like ICQ too!

You see, I was one of the first thousand ICQ’ers out there and had a 6 digit ICQ number, with the first three numbers were 100xxx. But, my great low ICQ number got compromised back in 2001 and I was in a great imaginery conflict in getting my account back, until I was finally successful. The only thing was, I had moved servers and couldn’t reply with the original hbs@gatewest.net email I had since March 1995. I just decided to get a new ICQ number, but by that time they were issuing ones in millions or tens of millions or something disgustingly popular like that. What are they issuing now? (not that I care)

Anyway - I’ve tried Yahoo Chat and at one time had chat friends on both Yahoo and Netscape (AOL) chat .. I was using the software Trillian which with only one software, I was able to talk to everybody in all three chat platforms - in one platform. After I lost touch with the odd Yahoo and Netscape friends, or converted them all to MSN Messenger, I just started to use MSN Messenger full time.

I have been using Eudora 5.1 (free version) for the longest time. The copyright is 1991-2002 years. Before that, I was using Eudora 3.1 (free version) for the longest time before that!

This week, I upgraded to Eudora 7.1 (Free Version) … it’s slightly better than version 5.1 but, nothing new that makes me have to read any “README” files! I did have a paid “Spamnix” add-on to version 5.1 and now it’s been automatically converted to “JUNK” folder, instead of Spamnix Folder. I don’t mind!

BEFORE: I used to transfer my spam and junk and stuff that my Spamnix and filters did NOT catch to my TRASH .. periodically, when I empty my Spamnix and transfer everything into my trash, I used to just run the Spamnix LEARN feature .. I tell the software that everything in my TRASH is TRASH and it helps catch most future TRASH!
