I mentioned .. HERE .. that I was planning to upgrade to the latest wordpress version and find a new template. Well, wordpress has been updated, but I have yet to find a suitable design I like.
I have thought about one design though .. except that it’s width is over 1000 pixels. According to my stats, only 6% of readers are using browser windows in 800×600 or smaller (?) .. so, I hope if I decide to go this route .. most will probably not notice ..
Here is a screen image of the view .. if you click .. HERE …
CAN YOU SUGGEST TO ME A BETTER DESIGN FOR 1-800-HART’s PICKS? Feel free to post some URL’s in these comments and I will take a look.

I don’t believe the 6% stat. what version of WP?
I want to try the making a non-blog site in WP.
I have WP1.5.2 And I have used pages. I’m partial to the column on the left but this site looks good on MAC OS.
Joe .. the stats are from my Statscounter stats .. at bottom of page with numeric count - but, it’s not public access like the Sitemeter counter. According to statscounter.. this is the browser statistics for this site..
63.74% - 1152×864
25.27% - 1024×768
5.49% - 1280×1024
4.40% - 800×600
1.10% - Unknown
I like this design because of the 3-columns. Some place the ads on the outside, closer to the scroller for ‘accidental clicking’ but, I don’t believe in that. It’s the first time I have that big box over both sidebars on any designs I have. It’s just an experiment at the moment.
I need a new header though … size 1000w x 100h .. with enough space to read the site name and tagline. How’s your photoshop skills?
Testing 1.2.3…
I’ve just added the “Subscribe to Comments” to this new design - I noticed the plugin was activated, but I forgot to put the code in the template. Now, when you comment - you just click the box below and you will be notified of new comments
